Maurien is Corporate Science Fellow Analytical Sciences at DSM, a global science-based company active in health, nutrition and materials. She represents analytics across  DSM and is responsible for new analytical technology development to generate insights to steer the development of  products, microbial strains and processes and product applications. Mass spectrometry is an important technology for DSM’s bright sciences and is applied throughout the company from research to production. At the DSM Biotechnology Center in Delft (The Netherlands), she is involved in the analysis of proteins, carbohydrates, metabolites, lipids and enzyme activity in complex microbial and food matrices. Maurien obtained her PhD in biomolecular mass spectrometry of glycoconjugates (Utrecht University) before joining DSM in 2000.
