Dr. Shane Ellis
Dr Shane R. Ellis is an ARC Future at the University of Wollongong and current NWO-VIDI laureate. From 2014-2020 he was an Assistant Professor at the Maastricht Multimodal Molecular Imaging Institute (Maastricht University) where he led the Imaging Instrumentation and Application Development Group. His research focuses on the continued development of mass spectrometry imaging technologies to break barriers in speed, resolution, sensitivity and molecular identification, as well as the application of these technologies to study localised biochemical processes in heterogeneous samples. He has a particular interest in lipids and the imaging of dynamic lipid metabolism throughout tissues and cells.
